Ingrid Lukas

about me

Ingrid is a Canadian artist born in Edmonton, Alberta. She continues to develop and refine her artististic talent through workshops, ongoing classes, travel, and visting galleries. She is inspired by nature, emotions, and memories that are captured with rich exaggerated colors and brushwork. She loves to challenge herself with new subjects to paint such as portraits, still life, outdoors and studying other painters. Ingrid’s paintings are generally realistic, but she is working towards a more impressionist feel. Depending on the subject, she likes to try and use many different styles of painting. Her second love is pencil, ink and charcoal that allow her to express emotion with more sentiment and detail.

Community

Ingrid is an active board member with the Leduc Art Club, and has helped develop the Aspiring Young Artists Competition. Ingrid is one of the original members of the Leduc Arts Foundry, which held the first Leduc Art Walk. The Leduc Arts Foundry has a temporary home at the Leduc Recreation Centre, where she is a Director. She is proud to be a part of the thriving arts community in Leduc.

Surrounded by the vibrant tapestry of life, everything in my environment becomes a wellspring of inspiration that fuels my passion for painting. The world around me, with its kaleidoscope of colors, intricate textures, and ever-changing light, serves as a boundless palette that beckons me to capture its beauty on canvas.
